Manitoba’s Housing, Addictions and Homelessness Minister Bernadette Smith is touting the progress the province has made on ending chronic homelessness.
The minister says 249 people have left homeless encampments since January 2025, on track to meet the province’s goal of housing 700 people by 2031.
“Every Manitoban moved into transitional or supported housing means another Manitoban moving into a safe, secure environment with the supports they need to thrive,” said Smith, in a press release Friday.
