Hundreds of people living in homeless encampments across Manitoba were moved into housing last year, according to figures from the province and a Winnipeg outreach organization. The Manitoba government said 170 former encampment residents have been housed by the province as part of its Your Way Home strategy, which aims to end chronic homelessness by 2031. An additional 80 people have been moved from shelters into social housing, the government said.
